PAN1026 sniff mode with Bluetooth classic

I am currently transitioning a product from the obsolete PAN1322 to the PAN1026 and only using the Bluetooth classic capability. For this we are using the Panasonic migration guide. We have validated the development kits that we can achieve the same transmission using the SPP interface to our Android application.

However the migration guide does not highlight how to configure the sniff mode on the PAN1026. Our legacy firmware was configuring the sniff mode during transmission to reduce the power consumption and aligned with our transmission interval. We transmit a about 250 bytes every 250ms and we were setting the sniff mode accordingly to a MIN/MAX value of: 248.75ms to 252.5ms. Specifically:

AT+JSNF=0194,018E,000F,000F,1

Can anyone confirm:

  • Does the PAN1026 in Classic mode have a way of configuring the sniff mode?
  • How to configure the sniff mode in the PAN1026?
  • Power consumption during extended transmission will be greatly increased if we don’t have an appropriate sniff mode configuration?

Cheers.
