PAN9055 SPI Hosted Wi-Fi Data Throughput

Data sheet for PAN9055 shows SDIO 3.0 interface supports SPI connected hosts. I have an application where SPI in the only remaining interface available to manage WiFi data (No SDIO port).  My question is can you provide an indication of the real data throughput that can be supported if SPI is used to interface to the Wi-Fi radio?  I’m not asking about the air standard bit rate, but the actual data rate that can be sustained.  Its usually far lower than the air standard rate.

Many thanks.

  • The PAN9055 uses the Marvell SoC 88W8797. This chip is prepared to support SPI over the SDIO Interface. Unfortunately there is no Marvell software driver available for the SPI interface, so it cannot be used. We will revise the data sheet soon.
