PAN1026 Android pairing issue

We're using PAN1026 (-501) modules for SPP communication with various Android phones.
The problem our users experience is that on some phones the pairing process is slow (more than 10 seconds) or it doesn't succeed at all with Android saying "Can't communicate with <device name>".
It's only a minority of the devices, most of them just work fine.

Does anyone have similar experiences?

On the PAN1026 module side, nothing can be seen of this, there are no messages while the phone is trying to initiate the pairing.

Looking at the Android HCI log, the problem seems to be that the phone is sending Remote Name Requests, which just time out (Page Timeout) after 5-6 seconds. Then, the phone retries 2-3 times until it either succeeds or displays the above error message.

Would it make sense to change the page scan interval and window of the module?
What are the default settings?
Is it possible to change these settings with the standard HCI commands?
